“If you’re shopping for a modular home, don’t expect a price online” was pretty much how it had always been done in the manufactured home business. Faced with unprecedented economic challenges, however, Champion Homes recognized the need to begin rethinking the rules and asked PUSH 22 to help them quickly launch a new initiative – one that would engage home buyers to design their “custom” modular home online, price for their project and connect with a Champion-approved builder.
The product was a good one but rather than introducing just another “series” of new homes, push focused on the uniqueness of the homebuying process. With “The Go House,” homebuyers could now go modular, go green and go through the homebuilding experience with a price, knowing their “customdesigned” home could go anywhere they wanted to build it. TheGoHouse.com, a flash-based website, was developed, allowing homebuyers to experiment, customize, price and source their own Go House.
And the new website has been a great success, generating a steady stream of leads and stealing the show at the 2010 International Builder Show. It even won the coveted 2011 Building Systems Council Excellence Award for website design. With plans to ramp up promotional efforts and add more floor plans soon, there’s simply no telling how far The Go House can go.
